Chanting With The Tanpura
We added a Tanpura/Swarmandal to our collection of instruments last week, so I’ve been spending a great deal of time getting it under hand, and using it in my daily meditation practice. It works really well for japa with shorter mantras.
I’m hoping to make it through 108 Gayatri repetitions during this month’s Key City Kirtan gathering.
Kali Durge Namo Namah
I went live on Facebook to share one of the chants that we’ll sing on Friday Evening’s Key City Kirtan.
The event is free and open to the public, but you do have to register in advance. Here’s the link for that.

An Introduction to Transcendental Meditation
Although I am not a trained TM practitioner, the technique is (from what I understand) similar to what I practice each day.
CEO of the David Lynch Foundation, Bob Roth, recently spoke about TM in an online video seminar for folks who are interested in learning it. The video doesn’t describe the step-by-step specifics of how to meditate, but is an excellent introduction to the philosophy and benefits of the practice.

I cannot explain it. You’ll just have to watch.
Chanting for Global Healing
Claudia and I have been chanting the Siri Gaitri together each day for several weeks now. Today we took to Facebook Live to share the mantra.
Thursday’s Child Talks Tarot
I took to Facebook in a live session talking about how the Tarot has changed my life, and some tips on how to get started.
Sing for Peace
Just a couple of old Hippie songs on a Friday Night.
Barstool Concerto
I’ve been feeling drawn to the acoustic guitar again lately, and have also been remembering how good it feels to play and sing for others. Facebook Live offers an opportunity to share the music without dragging a bunch of equipment out to a tavern, being away from my family, or staying up too late past my bedtime. 🙂
I may do some more of these from time to time. It would be nice to figure out how to make it a little more interactive, and get some decent sound and video quality too. But this will do for now.

How to Disrupt Racism
Since the election of Donald Trump, bigots in the United States have been emboldened, and racist attacks are on the rise. I’ve been looking for practical steps that we can take to protect our neighbors and friends who may become victims.
This video, produced in the wake of the Brexit vote by the UK Racial Justice Network, is excellent.
I’ll continue to research this subject and share anything of value here in future posts.
If you have resources to share, please comment or shoot me an email.
